Harris Wins Potential $16M Deal to Upgrade Marine Corps Radio Systems

Harris logo_GovConWireHarris Corp. (NYSE: HRS) has won a potential $16 million contract to provide the Marine Corps with digital radio systems intended to replace the analog devices used in first responder communications.

The management and maintenance services contract includes a $6 million task order to upgrade the radios at four stations in Georgia and North Carolina, Harris said Monday.

The communications systems provider said it will build its VIDA network management tool and Project 25 technology into the new system.

The project will also involve work to design, deliver and install related gear, managed services and other options that are expected to improve engagement between the Marine Corps and civilian agencies as they coordinate various activities.
