According to the report, some current and former procurement officials believe federal contracts tend to seek the same or similar services.
“In my opinion, GWACs and interagency contracts in general are much better for reducing duplication than single-agency and especially single-component contracts, ” Dan Gordon, former chief of the Office of Federal Procurement Policy, told Federal News Radio.
Miller reports OFPP has made several attempts to build a database of multiple-award contract vehicles over the past decade.
Bill Woods, director of acquisition sourcing management at the Government Accountability Office, told the radio station that no data sources are available to determine the number of existing non-GWACs or who manages them.
