Carol Erikson Named Northrop Space Systems Engineering VP

Carol Erikson, who joined Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) as a systems engineer in 1987, has been promoted to vice president of engineering for the company’s space systems business.

The 26-year company veteran will be responsible for supporting programs within the aerospace systems sector’s research and technology area, Northrop said Friday.

She will also lead engineering work on the James Webb Space Telescope, the Space Tracking and Surveillance System, the Tactical High Energy Laser and other related programs.

Erikson has previously served as project manager of payloads for the National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System and deputy program manager of program integration for the company’s advanced missions programs portfolio.

She has alsodirected system enhancement and captures for Mission 1.
