Lockheed Wins Potential $400M CDC IT, Emergency Services IDIQ; Glenn Kurowski Comments

LockheedLogoLockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has won a potential $400 million contract to provide information technology and emergency operations support services to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention over five years.

The company has worked with CDC since 1999 and has supported the agency’s office of public health and preparedness during public health incidents and normal operations, Lockheed said Wednesday.

“Lockheed Martin has supported the CDC’s mission of safeguarding health and saving lives for 13 years, ” said Glenn Kurowski, vice president of health and life sciences for Lockheed’s information systems and global solutions business.

CDC also works with Lockheed to manage logistics for the Strategic National Stockpile, which contains medicine and medical supplies aimed to protect citizens if local supplies run out during a public health emergency.

Lockheed is also helping CDC’s emergency operations center develop a dashboard intended for federal, state and local agencies to share data.
