General Dynamics Subsidiary, Sentient Form Military Surveillance Tech Team; Kevin Moore Comments

general dynamics logoGeneral Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) Mediaware subsidiary and Sentient Vision Systems Pty Ltd are partnering to create a surveillance system for helping troops identify targets in maritime and combat operations.

The partnership intends to combine Mediaware’s D-VEX video system with Sentient’s Kestrel land and maritime software to help surveillance personnel analyze forensics and report intelligence matters, General Dynamics said Wednesday.

Kevin Moore, Mediaware chief technology officer, said the combined technologies are also intended for search and rescue operations.

D-VEX systems are designed to record full-motion video and Sentient’s Kestrel detection software aims to help soldiers recognize moving targets in electro-optical and infrared captures.

Australia-based Mediaware is part of General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems.
