Microsoft Corporate VP Amy Hood Named CFO; Steve Ballmer Comments

Hood_Amy Amy Hood, a corporate vice president at Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), has been appointed chief financial officer, effective immediately.

Hood will be in-charge of financial strategy oversight, management, and reporting of the $24.1 billion MBD business, Microsoft said Wednesday.

“She has been an instrumental leader in the Microsoft Business Division, helping lead the transition to services with Office 365 and delivering strong financial and operational management throughout her time on the business, ” said Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.

Joining Microsoft in December 2002, Hood will now replace Peter Klein. Klein will remain with the microsoft-logocompany until June to assist in the transition.

Previously, Hood served as chief of staff in the server and tools group, then ran the strategy and business development team in the business division before being named CFO of the division in 2010.

Prior to working at Microsoft, Hood worked at Goldman Sachs and other investment banking and capital market companies.
