Raytheon  (NYSE: RTN) has won a contract to upgrade radar systems on board South Korea’s KF-16 fighter jets for an undisclosed amount.

The Waltham, Mass.-based company will supply 134 active electronically scanned array radars for the fleet and the first set of deliveries is expected within three years, the Washington Business Journal reported Wednesday.

Jill Aitoro writes Raytheon will also develop the active electronically scanned array radars and test assets needed for the system design and development program.

Rick Yuse, Raytheon president of space and airborne systems, said the project’s goal is to make sure the fleet is ready to take on different types of threats.

According to the report, Raytheon has delivered more than 500 AESA systems to its global customers.

The contract is subject to final U.S. government approval.
