Lockheed to Upgrade Air Force Airlifters Under $3B Contract

LockheedLogoLockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has won a $45, 651, 026 contract modification to continue upgrading three lots of airlifters for the U.S. Air Force.

This award increases the C-5 Reliability Enhancement and Re-engining Program’s total contract value from $3, 647, 439, 476 to $3, 693, 090, 503, the Defense Department said Thursday.

The modification covers C-5 Galaxy lots three, four and five.

Work under the modification will occur in Marietta, Ga. through Oct. 29, 2014.

The Air Force is obligating $14, 871, 979 in aircraft procurement funds for the award from fiscal years 2011 through 2013.
