Lockheed NASA Mission Control Systems Contract Extends to $1B

LockheedLogoLockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has won a $166.8 million contract extension to continue providing mission control services and systems support services for NASA‘s manned spaceflight programs.

The option extends the facilities development and operations contract through Sept. 30, 2014 and increases the total contract value to $1 billion, NASA said Thursday.

Lockheed will continue to help the agency operate training hardware, software, data and display systems at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.

Work will occur in the JSC’s mission control center and mission simulator and training facility, NASA said.
