Kathryn Mikells, chief financial officer at home security system maker ADT (NYSE: ADT) since April 2012, will join Xerox (NYSE: XRX) as executive vice president and CFO on May 2.

Mikells, current board member for the Hartford Financial Services Group, helped lead ADT through its separation from former parent company Tyco International (NYSE: TYC) and transition into an independent publicly-traded company in 2012, Xerox said Thursday.

She has also held the CFO roles at water treatment and energy technology provider Nalco and at United Airlines‘ former parent company UAL Corp., where she also served as an EVP.

Her 16-year tenure at UAL also included service as head of investor relations, VP of financial planning and analysis and treasurer.

“Kathy brings to Xerox extensive experience in financial management coupled with broad global business acumen in both services and technology, ” said Ursula Burns, Xerox chairman and CEO.

Burns added Mikells joins Xerox’s management team as the company aims to grow its services businesses.

Prior to UAL Corp., she spent six years combined at General Electric‘s (NYSE: GE) capital business, Household International and CIBC.
