John Pranzatelli has been promoted to president of MBDA Inc., the U.S. operations of global missile systems maker MBDA Group.
He will work with U.S. military customers and partners to develop new products and be responsible for growing the MBDA Group’s presence in the U.S. market, MBDA Inc. says on its website.
BAE Systems, EADS and Finmeccanica own shares in MBDA Group, which also operates in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the U.K.
Pranzatelli, who joined MBDA Inc. in 2009 as vice president of strategy and business operations, will also propose technology and other offerings to U.S. customers in his new role.
Prior to joining MBDA, Pranzatelli served as VP of finance and business management for Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) for two years and as VP of finance and controller for the prior two years.
The 27-year Northrop and TRW veteran also served for six years as finance and business director for mission systems, both at Northrop and at TRW.
