Raytheon to Engineer Navy Search Radars

RaytheonLogoRaytheon (NYSE: RTN) has won an $8, 330, 413 contract modification to continue engineering and technical services work on surface search radars for the U.S. Navy.

The cost-plus-fixed-fee award modifies an existing basic ordering agreement for support of the AN/SPS-73(V) systems, the Defense Department said Wednesday.

According to the Navy, the radar is intended for navigation and surveillance missions on either ship- or land-based platforms.

Areas of work will include program management, design engineering, system engineering, technical analysis, programmatic and technical documentation, safety-related engineering and logistics support.

Ninety-eight percent of work will occur in Portsmouth, R.I. and the remaining 2 percent in Sudbury, Mass. through April 2015.

Raytheon will receive all contract funds at the time of award and $666, 433 in funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
