Northrop Wins $71M For Navy Vertical Takeoff UAVs

NorthropLogoNorthrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has won a $71, 623, 427 contract modification to deliver six vertical takeoff and landing tactical unmanned aerial vehicles to the U.S. Navy.

The company will modify and deliver both the drones and seven ground control stations for a Navy endurance upgrade rapid deployment capability effort, the Defense Department said Monday.

A third of the work will occur in Dallas and the rest in Ozark, Ala.; Rancho Bernardo and Point Mugu, Calif.; and Moss Point, Miss. through September 2014.

At the time of award, the company will receive all contract funds from the Navy’s aircraft procurement funds for fiscal years 2012 and 2013.
