Lockheed Wins $330M to Supply U.S., European Militaries with F-35 Parts

LockheedLogoLockheed Martin’s [NYSE: LMT] aeronautics company has won a $333, 786, 000 advanced acquisition contract to provide F-35 long lead-time parts, materials and components to the U.S. Navy.

The Defense Department’s Thursday announcement said the order is required for the delivery of 35 low rate initial production F-35 aircraft.

Nineteen conventional takeoff and landing aircraft will be for the U.S. Air Force; six short takeoff vertical landing planes for the U.S. Marine Corps; four carrier variant aircraft for the Navy; four STOVL for the U.K. and two CTOL aircraft for Norway.

The U.S. Navy expects work in Fort Worth, Texas, to be completed in February 2014.

This contract combines purchases for the Air Force ($155.19 million), the Marine Corps ($85.38 million), Navy ($27.47 million), the U.K. ($45, 037, 000) and Norway ($20, 709, 000).

The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting authority.
