A joint venture of Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) could sign a new five-year agreement with the U.S. government for a new set of rockets during the next quarter, DoD Buzz reports.
Brendan McGarry writes United Launch Alliance would provide the government at least 36 medium- and heavy-lift rockets for launching military and surveillance satellites.
McGarry reports Robert Cleave, Lockheed president of commercial launch services, said Tuesday the Defense Department has made an acquisition decision and a deal could come by May.
Cleave said both parties are negotiating terms and conditions, McGarry reports.
