Software AG’s SAP-based business in North America has been bought by software systems provider itelligence for an undisclosed sum in an attempt to penetrate the Canadian market and expand itelligence’s U.S. customer base.

The two companies expect to finalize the transaction on Jan. 16, Cincinnati, Ohio-based itelligence said in a statement.

A new itelligence branch will also open in Toronto, Ontario, to cater to the English-speaking Canadian market, said Steve Niesman, CEO and president of itelligence U.S.

“Among Software AG customers are clients in the automotive, CPG and manufacturing industries, as well as young dynamic startups in the region, ” he said.

The purchase includes Software AG’s SAP consulting, license and
maintenance operations in the two countries, and will result in the transfer of several Software AG staff to the itelligence team, which is set to grow to 2, 700 employees in 21 countries.

Itelligence’s industry solutions are based on the SAP business all-in-one suite of enterprise management software, including license sales, consulting, business intelligence and full managed services, such as a 24/7 hotline and hosting options at 10 data centers located worldwide.

“(We are delighted) to be a part of an organization completely dedicated to delivering the power of SAP, ” said Jason Mausberg, managing director of itelligence Business Solutions Canada Inc., who was previously GCS managing director at Software AG, a provider of big data, integration and business process technologies for enterprise management.

“We are excited to bring a more complete and robust portfolio of SAP solutions to not only our valued customers but to new prospects in Ontario as well, ” he added.
