The company said the appointment is effective immediately and he will report to Sid Ashworth, corporate VP of government relations.

Stanley, a 37-year Navy veteran, will lead the cybersecurity and C4 portfolio within the government relations organization and manage corporate interactions with U.S. government and nongovernment officials.

“His extensive experience as a senior leader in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, with the Joint Chiefs of Staff and with the U.S. Navy will contribute greatly to Northrop Grumman’s capabilities in support of our nation’s military and its global security mission, ” Ashworth said.

He will also be responsible for communicating messages regarding active programs, marketing and corporate business activity in the cybersecurity and C4 sectors.

Before retiring from the Navy, he most recently served as principal deputy director of cost assessment and program evaluation in the Office of the Secretary of Defense.

He also served as director for force structure, resources and assessments for the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and held financial management positions for the Navy.

During service in the Navy’s submarine force, Stanley’s leadership positions included commander of Submarine Group Eight and deputy director of submarine warfare.

He is a recipient of the Defense Distinguished Service Medal and the Distinguished Service Medal.

In September, Northrop announced Ginger Wierzbanowski would serve as VP of space and missile defense programs in the government relations organization.
