Lockheed Wins 1st Option on Potential $111M Apache Fire Control Contract

LockheedLogoLockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has won a $90.6 million contract option to provide the U.S. Army fire control systems for Apache helicopter pilots, the company said Thursday.

This is the first of three options under a potential $111 million performance-based logistics contract announced in September 2012 (click here for our coverage of that award).

According to the company, the Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor program’s potential value is $375 million over four years.

Apache helicopter pilots use the sensors for flying during daylight, nighttime or adverse weather conditions.

The company will also provide fire control systems to the U.S. government for a proposed $406 million foreign military sales agreement with Qatar.
