Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) has named Executive Vice President Lloyd Howell to succeed the retiring Jimmy Henry as head of the company’s civilian business, the Washington Business Journal reports.
Henry is retiring from the company in April after a 26-year career there, where he also served on the board of directors and on the board’s finance committee.
Howell, a nearly two-decade company veteran, currently serves as client service officer for financial services, leading a business that works with customers in the federal and private sectors.
The company said he has worked with the U.S. Treasury Department, Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Reserve, Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation and the Commodity Futures Trade Commission.
Howell also serves on Booz Allen’s leadership team and is chairman of its ethics and compliance committee.
His Booz Allen career encompasses two stints, the first between 1988 and 1991, where he provided systems engineering support for Defense Department satellite programs.
He returned to the company in 1995 as a member of the strategy and organization function and worked with defense customers such as the Navy, Marine Corps, Army and Office of the Secretary of Defense.
The company elevated him to vice president and he led the S&O function from 2005 to 2009.
In between stints, he worked as an associate in Goldman Sach’s investment banking division and earned an M.B.A.
