Rockwell Collins (NYSE: COL) has promoted Dave Nieuwsma, head of airborne solutions within the government systems unit, to vice president of government strategy and business development.
The company said the 21-year Rockwell Collins veteran will lead marketing and sales functions and succeed Phillip Jasper, who elevated to executive VP and chief operating officer post for government systems in September.
“Dave’s broad base of experience will help guide our company’s government systems business unit through the current challenging defense market environment and position us for future growth, ” Jasper said.
Nieuwsma will be succeeded in his current post by two-decade company veteran Troy Brunk, who will hold the vice president and general manager titles for a business that develops avionics and flight decks for fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters.
“Troy’s extensive knowledge of the airborne market will serve him well in his new role, ” Jasper said.
That business also includes unmanned airborne systems.
