General Dynamics Subsidiary Providing Navy DDG 51 Destroyer Planning Yard Services

General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) Bath Iron Works subsidiary has won a $70, 491, 916 contract modification to continue providing the U.S. Navy planning yard services on destroyers.

The Defense Department said this award exercises the first option year for work on the DDG 51 and FFG 7 classes of destroyers.

Bath Iron Works will provide the branch design, planning and material support services for both maintenance and modernization.

The Navy is obligating $678, 931 in funds at the time of award and those funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

Work will occur in Bath, Maine through December 2013 and the Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington is the contracting activity.
