Boeing Wins $690M for 15 Navy Super Hornets

Boeing (NYSE: BA) has won a $687, 611, 825 ceiling-priced modification to produce and deliver 15 F/A/18-E jets for the U.S. Navy during fiscal year 2013.

According to the Defense Department, these lot 37 Super Hornet jets are covered under an aircraft variation in quantity clause in the contract.

The Navy is obligating $645, 495, 600 in funds on this award and none of those funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

Nearly ninety percent of the work will occur in St. Louis and El Segundo, Calif., with the rest occurring at other sites within the continental U.S. and Canada.

The Pentagon expects the work to finish by July 2015 and the Naval Air Systems Command at Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Australia requested a $1.7 billion foreign military sale in May, which would include kits to convert that country’s Super Hornet fleet into the EA-18G Growler configuration.
