Pragmatics has appointed Michael Zaramba chief financial officer, where he will oversee the company’s financial operations and report directly to CEO Dr. Long Nguyen.

The company said Zaramba will be responsible for corporate accounting, financial strategy, business planning, tax functions and corporate acquisitions.

Zaramba has 20 years experience in supporting corporate growth and expansion in service company environments and will help Pragmatics work toward long-term financial goals, Nguyen said in a release.

Before joining Pragmatics, Zaramba served as president of federal information technology services provider Altron, where orchestrated, negotiated and closed its merger with Provident Analysis Corp.

He also chaired Altron’s executive committee and served the company’s board of directors.

Previously, he served as CFO and later as chief strategy officer at Stanley, where he contributed to the company’s growth and helped transition it from a privately-held enterprise to a public company.
