Lockheed to Provide AF F-22 Modifications, Analysis

Lockheed Martin will conduct modifications, installations and analysis work on the F-22 jet for the U.S. Air Force under a $22, 444, 730 million contract, the Defense Department announced Tuesday.

The company will also perform heavy maintenance sustainment, depot throughput, signature analysis system reduction, contractor field teams, structural retrofit plan and modernization and common configuration.

Work will occur at both Hill Air Force Base, Utah and Palmdale, Calif through Dec. 31, 2013 and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio is the contracting activity.

In March, the Pentagon announced Lockheed won an estimated $664.4 million contract for sustainment work on the F-22 Raptor fleet during calendar year 2012.

That announcement came nearly four months after the company won a larger $7.4 billion Air Force contract to upgrade and provide new requirements for the jets.
