Boeing Appoints Tony Parasida SVP of HR and Administration; Jim McNerney Comments

Boeing‘s (NYSE: BA) Tony Parasida, current president of Boeing defense, space & security’s global services & support business unit, will  become senior vice president for human resources and administration effective April 1, 2013.

“Tony is a successful and strong business leader who understands the vital role employees play in growing our businesses in competitive global markets and keeping our promises to customers, ” said  Jim McNerney, Boeing chairman, president and chief executive officer.

Parasida’s responsibilities will include leadership development, training, employee relations, compensation, benefits, diversity initiatives and corporate administration.

“With his perspective and experience, he’ll be a great partner to our business leaders and a strong advocate for our employees, customers and the communities in which we operate, ” McNerney added.

The current SVP of HR and administration, Rick Stephens announced his retirement, effective March 31, 2013.

A former U.S. Marine Corps officer, Stephens has held his current position and been a member of the company’s Executive Council since 2005.

Jim O’Neill, VP and general manager of the integrated logistics business within GS&S, will immediately replace Parasida as GS&S president.

Parasida will also lead Boeing’s shared services group and the global corporate citizenship organization and become a member of Boeing’s executive council.

He was previously president and general manager for surveillance and engagement systems within Boeing Military Aircraft before joining GS&S in 2009. He also led the company’s P-8 Poseidon, F/A-18 Hornet and V-22 Osprey programs.

Parasida will begin working with Stephens immediately to ensure a smooth transition.
