Sharon Rowlands

Peter Masanotti stepped down as president and CEO of USIS around Aug. 1 and Altegrity CEO Sharon Rowlands is serving as USIS’ acting leader, GovCon Wire has learned.

Altegrity owns USIS and operates USIS’ investigations services and global security and solutions divisions as a business area.

It is believed that a full-time successor will be named.

Masanotti joined USIS in November 2011 from clinical documentation software and services provider MedQuist Holdings, where he had served as president and CEO since 2008.

He previously was a managing director and global head of business process outsourcing for Deutsche Bank.

Masanotti succeeded Bill Mixon, who had been with USIS since 2005 and now leads all sales and marketing functions for medical equipment management firm Universal Hospital Services as that company’s president.

Rowlands also joined Altegrity in November 2011, accepting a seat on the board of directors in addition to her chief executive role.

She is a former president and CEO of Thomson Financial and most recently lead Penton Media Inc. as CEO from 2008 to 2011.
