GE Joins Lockheed Under $167M Aircraft Communications Contract; Lorraine Bolsinger Comments

GE (NYSE: GE) announced Monday its aviation unit has partnered with Lockheed Martin Corp. (NYSE: LMT) under a $167 million contract to equip C-130J aircraft with new communication and navigation systems.

Lockheed originally secured the deal last year.

Lorraine Bolsinger, president and CEO of GE Aviation Systems said the upgrade will enable compatibility with future air traffic management systems.

Through the agreement, GE will assist by providing technical services including an upgrade on the C-130J Hercules’ air traffic management data link.

The team will also provide additional software and hardware expansion for modernized identification friend-or-foe identification and automatic dependent surveillance broadcast capabilities.
