SAIC Wins Prime Spot On $750M State Dept. Software IDIQ

SAIC Inc. (NYSE: SAI) has won a prime position on a potential $750 million contract to provide software engineering development and technical support for State Department business processes.

The company said Tuesday it will compete for task orders under the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, which has one base year and four option years.

SAIC is expanding its relationship with the department’s office of consular systems and technology and helping the office move their business processes to an enterprise model, said Thomas Watson, a senior vice president.

Development, operations and technical support work will help the bureau of consular affairs process visas and passports and deliver citizen services to Americans abroad.

The company also holds a prime position on a potential $525 million IDIQ contract to provide software development integration and testing services to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
