Alion Wins $542M For Navy Submarine Engineering Support; Rod Riddick Comments

Alion Science and Technology has won a potential $542 million contract to provide technical and management support services for U.S. Navy submarines, the company announced Thursday.

The company will provide the branch’s Team Submarine program offices with engineering, logistics, program management and business and financial management.

Alion has worked with the submarine force for decades, said Rod Riddick, a senior vice president.

The contract also covers the acquisition, development, and maintenance of submarines, sensors, combat systems, weapons and payloads.

Team Submarine focuses on strategies for undersea warfare research, development and acquisition, according to the company.

Alion also holds an estimated $73.2 million contract to provide the Navy with program management services for the branch’s surface ships.
