SAIC’s Doug Wagoner Comments On $3B DHS Communications IDIQ

SAIC Inc. (NYSE: SAI) has gained a prime position on a potential $3 billion contract with the Department of Homeland Security for tactical communications services, the company confirmed Thursday.

The company’s work for DHS will support officer safety, border protection and natural disaster response, according to Doug Wagoner, a senior vice president and business unit general manager.

Other work could involve engineering and infrastructure services, tactical command, control, communications and computers operations and maintenance response.

The company also is currently competing against Lockheed Martin Corp. (NYSE: LMT) for a potential $4.6 billion network operations and management contract with the Defense Information Systems Agency.

That potential five-year contract will house orders to support a global information grid.
