Raytheon Wins $85M For AF Griffin Missiles

Raytheon Co. (NYSE: RTN) has won an $85.5 million contract to provide the U.S. Air Force with short-range air-to-surface missiles, the Defense Department announced Friday.

The company will deliver the first order of 22 Griffin all-up-rounds and 43 telemetry rounds on the firm-fixed-price award.

Work will occur in Tucson, Ariz. and the Pentagon expects delivery to complete by July 31, 2013.

Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. is the contracting activity.

In April, the Pentagon announced that the company won an estimated $191 million contract to supply a military targeting system and associated accessories to the Air Force.

Equipment will include targeting system turrets, high-definition electronic units, containers and shop replaceable units.
