QinetiQ North America, Wyle and Kratos Defense and Security Solutions (NASDAQ: KTOS) have formed a joint venture to pursue contracts with the Space and Missile Defense Command and the Army Forces Strategic Command, the Huntsville Times reports.
The joint venture, QWK Integrated Solutions, is a long-term engagement to develop warfighter solutions and technology, said Dr. George C. Prueitt, president and general manager of Wyle’s CAS group.
Both commands focus on developing laser and directed energy weapons, nanosatellites, space-based technologies and high-altitude vehicles. They also help defend against improvised explosive devices.
The joint venture will will focus on laser and direct energy weapons, nanosatellite and space-based technologies, high-altitude vehicles and improvised explosive device solutions, according to the report.
QWK will also work on weapons deployment turnaround.
