Northrop Wins $51M For Global Hawk Radar Development

Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: NOC) has won a $51, 284, 530 contract to develop radar systems for a U.S. Air Force technology insertion program, the Defense Department announced Friday.

The company’s system sector will develop the systems for the branch’s multi-platform program and support the company’s Global Hawk Block 40 aircraft.

Work will occur in Norwalk, Conn. and the Pentagon expects the work to finish by March 2015.

Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass. is the contracting activity for the cost-plus-incentive-fee contract

The Air Force also recently awarded Northrop $87 million for 43 fire control radar systems, fulfilling a foreign military sales agreement.

Iraq will purchase 22 radars, Oman will buy 15 units and Thailand will acquire 9 units.
