Harris Wins $85M For Army Radio Base Stations, Foreign Sales

Harris Corp. (NYSE: HRS) has won a $85.5 million U.S. Army contract to provide the branch with radio base stations, vehicle mounts and manpacks.

The Defense Department said Friday that the Melbourne, Fa.-based communications and contracting firm will support foreign military sales programs.

Work location will be determined by individual delivery orders and the Pentagon expects the work to finish by Dec. 10, 2015.

The Army Contracting Command’s office at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. is the contracting activity for the firm-fixed-price contract.

Harris is also developing a joint electronic health records system for the departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs under an $80 million contract, part of the VA’s T4 vehicle.

In September 2011, the VA awarded T4 as part of its goal to consolidate operations at more than 150 VA hospitals.
