ITT Exelis (NYSE: XLS) has won a $49.5 million contract to provide the U.S. Army with night vision goggles, the company announced Tuesday.
This award calls for the company to produce 3, 800 AN/PSQ-20A units and the company has delivered the goggles since 2005, when it received an Army contract for 9, 000 goggles.
The Mclean, Va.-based defense technology provider said deliveries are scheduled to complete this year.
In late March, the company announced a partnership with India-based Tata Advanced Systems to support that country’s third-generation night vision requirements.
Exelis will provide the image intensifier kits, tubes and other needed materials for building night vision systems and Tata will then manufacture the devices.
