Boeing Wins $83M For Avenger Air Defense Support

Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) has won $83, 063, 950 from the U.S. Army to provide Avenger weapon system support and engineering services, the Defense Department announced Thursday.

The Avenger air defense system provides mobile, short-range air defense protection for ground units against cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, low-flying fixed-wing aircraft, and helicopters.

Work under the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract will be performed in Huntsville, Ala and the Pentagon expects the work to finish by March 31, 2015.

The Army Contracting Command’s office in Redstone Arsenal, Ala. is the contracting activity.
