Thales USA Names BAE Vet Jim Fraser Govt. Relations VP

Thales has appointed Jim Fraser vice president of government relations for the company’s U.S. subsidiary, the company announced Tuesday.

He will manage the subsidiary’s government relations and be responsible for engagement efforts between the company’s U.S. businesses and federal, state and local entities.

Prior to joining Thales, he spent more than a decade at BAE Systems, where he most recently served as VP of political relations and compliance.

He worked with government clients and also served as director of legislative affairs at BAE.

Prior to entering the private sector, he served in the U.S. Navy for 23 years, retiring in 2002.

He also held various roles with the Defense Department, including director for Senate affairs in the office of the assistant secretary for legislative affairs.

At the Pentagon, he worked with issues involving national missile defense, cooperative threat reduction, export controls, foreign military sales and national strategic policy.
