DRS Defense Solutions’ technical services unit has won a potential $269 million U.S. Navy contract to provide the branch with engineering services for satellite and communication systems.

The Defense Department said the company will support the Pentagon’s and other U.S. government sponsors’ requirements for fielded Internet cafes, morale and welfare.

The Navy received four offers for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract via a competitive process on the FedBizOpps and the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command’s e-commerce websites.

The company will also help develop, test, install and maintain the systems and provide integrated logistics support.

Work will occur in Iraq, Afghanistan and Stuttgart, Germany and the Pentagon expects work under the firm-fixed-price contract to finish in April 2015.

SPAWAR Atlantic in Charleston, S.C. is the contracting activity and $100, 000 in contract funds will expire at the end of this fiscal year.

The Navy also recently awarded DRS a position on a $94.7 million contract for electronic security systems.
