DARPA Submits RFP to Improve Power/Computing Efficency

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has submitted a request for proposal for embedded power efficient computing.

DARPA said it is looking for a way to provide improve computing efficiency per watt of electrical power.

Improved computing power would enhance military intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities by enabling real-time information collection and processing, according to the RFP.

DARPA said its power efficiency goal is 75 giga floating point operations per second per watt.
