Boeing Delivers Final F-15 Aircraft to South Korea; Roger Besancenez comments

Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) has delivered the final two F-15 planes to South Korea under a five-year contract, the company announced Tuesday.

The Chicago-based aerospace and defense company won a multi-billion contract in June 2002 to provide 40 of the Slam Eagle planes for the country’s Next Fighter II program.

South Korea awarded another contract in 2008 for 21 more planes.

Roger Besancenez, the company’s F-15 program vice president, said the country will use those planes through 2040.

The company will also continue to support the South Korean air force under a separate five-year performance based logistics sustainment contract awarded in February.

Boeing selected Seoul-based Hyundai Glovis to handle in-country logistics handling and supply chain distribution.

Nearly 20 South Korean companies work with Boeing and the aerospace firm invested $250 million with those companies in 2011.

Boeing recently won a $11, 399, 100, 000 U.S. Air Force contract to provide 84 F-15 aircraft, fulfilling a foreign military sales agreement with Saudi Arabia.
