BAE Wins $78M DLA Contract For Protective Inserts

BAE Systems has won a potential $78, 530, 843 Defense Logistics Agency contract to provide the military with protective inserts, the Defense Department announced Friday.

The Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force will use the small arms protective inserts.

The DLA received five responses for the firm-fixed-price contract through its Internet bid board system.

Work will occur in Phoenix and the Pentagon expects work to finish on Sept. 20, 2013.

Contract funds fall under the defense working capital funds for fiscal year 2012 and the DLA’s troop support office in Philadelphia is the contracting activity.

The company’s specialty defense systems unit will provide the Army, Navy and Marines with outer tactical vests and kits under a potential $108.4 million DLA contract.
