SAIC Wins $46M TSA Hazmat Contract

SAIC Inc. (NYSE: SAI) won a potential $46 million Transportation Security Administration prime contract to help manage hazardous materials and waste.

The company said the single-award contract has five years, including options.

JT Grumski, a senior vice president and business unit general manager, said the company has supported TSA for eight years.

Grumski also said the company will help TSA track, manage and dispose of 1.5 million pounds of hazardous waste per year.

The company will provide hazardous materials management and disposal services to all TSA airport facilities in the continental U.S., Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. Virgin Islands and South Pacific.

The company will help the agency comply with federal, state and local regulations on hazardous materials and waste.

The company will also audit the agency’s waste treatment, storage and disposal facilities.

Work includes managing an online records and recordkeeping system, supporting emergency spill response and developing and implementing a training program.

SAIC will also help the Environmental Protection Agency develop a reporting system for greenhouse gases under a potential $139 million contract.

Work will include data analytics and information technology support.
