TASC Elects Jacques Gansler to Board of Directors; David Langstaff Comments

TASC Inc. has elected former senior vice president and corporate director Jacques Gansler to the company’s board of directors, TASC announced Wednesday.

Gansler served at TASC from 1977 until 1997 and served as defense undersecretary for acquisition, technology and logistics from 1997 to 2001.

TASC President and CEO David Langstaff said Gansler’s knowledge of the company, national security and the federal acquisition process will help the company meet efficiency requirements from federal customers.

At the Pentagon, Gansler managed a 300, 000-strong workforce and an annual budget of $180 million.

Gansler was also responsible for areas relating to:

  • acquisition reform
  • advanced technology
  • biological, chemical and nuclear programs
  • logistics
  • research and development

Gansler is currently a professor and Roger C. Lipitz Chair in public policy and private enterprise at the University of Maryland‘s school of public policy.

Gansler also directs the university’s center for public policy and private enterprise.
