SAIC Wins Potential $78M Contract for CMS Authentication System; Charles Beard Comments

SAIC Inc. (NYSE: SAI) won a potential $78 million Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services contract to develop a remote identity and authentication infrastructure.

SAIC said the contract has one base year and four one-year options.

Charles Beard, SAIC’s chief information officer, said the company will provide experts in cybersecurity and health information technology to CMS.

SAIC will develop a secure cloud model that is in compliance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology‘s standards for electronic authentication, outlined in NIST publication 800-63-1.
