SAIC Wins Prime Spot on $525M Patent Office IT IDIQ

SAIC Inc. (NYSE: SAI) has won a prime position on a software support contract from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, SAIC announced Tuesday.

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract is potentially worth $525 million for all awardees and has one base year and four one-year options.

SAIC is one of five companies who will compete for future task orders under the contract. SAIC said it will provide software development integration and testing services in areas of:

  • configuration and program management
  • software maintenance and transition
  • production support

SAIC will also integrate commercial technology with database and software applications.

“We look forward to working with the USPTO to introduce new technologies and approaches to modernize and replace legacy systems while enabling greater use of virtualization and web services, ” said Doug Wagoner, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.
