Raytheon Elects Ret. Gen. James Cartwright to Board of Directors

James Cartwright

Retired Marine Corps Gen. James Cartwright has been elected to Raytheon‘s (NYSE: RTN) board of directors, Raytheon announced Friday.

From 2007 to 2011, Cartwright served as vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The 40-year veteran retired from the military in August 2011.

Cartwright currently serves as Harold Brown Chair inĀ Defense Policy StudiesĀ at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

“General Cartwright’s deep understanding of defense and broad experience in military operations and matters of national security will be of great value to our board, ” Raytheon Chairman and CEO William Swanson said.
