The U.S. Navy has awarded Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: NOC) a $781.5 million contract modification to provide five low rate initial production E-2 Hawkeye aircraft, the Pentagon announced Tuesday.
The modification brings the total value of the contract to $1, 542, 283, 000.
The award is a modification on a previous contract worth $760, 783, 000 awarded in July 2011 for the manufacturing and delivery of five low rate initial production E-2 aircraft.
The Pentagon said it expects work to be completed by May 2015. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
