Kratos Names Former Navy Acquisition Official Technical Services VP

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions has named Joseph McGettigan vice president of its technical services business unit, Kratos announced Thursday.

McGettigan previously served as deputy for weapons engineering at the Naval Sea Systems Command. Kratos said he led a team of 14 U.S. Navy weapons systems technology experts and was responsible for commanding combat system surface combatants.

McGettigan has also served as director of the U.S. Naval Academy‘s engineering and weapons division and as commander of the Naval Surface Warfare Center‘s Dahlgren division.

At Dahlgren, Kratos said he led scientists and engineers in developing and testing weapons systems.

Kratos President Dave Carter said McGettigan’s “military experience directly aligns with our business practices and philosophies — we are very fortunate to have (him) join our leadership team.”

McGettigan will replace Wayne Rogers, who is scheduled to retire in February.
