Terremark, a Verizon (NYSE: VZ) company, has promoted its chief operating officer Nelson Fonseca to company president.
Fonseca will succeed Kerry Bailey, who was recently named chief marketing officer of Verizon’s new organization that consolidated its enterprise operations for government and business customers.
As COO, Fonseca was responsible for the company’s operational efficiency.
He previously served as president of Terremark’s U.S. public sector business, where he oversaw federal business and state and local initiatives.
Fonseca has also served as senior vice president of sales for the company’s federal group as well as vice president for worldwide sales.
“When Verizon initially acquired Terremark, one of the main drivers was the outstanding leadership team that was in place and Nelson will continue to be an invaluable asset for the company, ” said Bob Toohey, Verizon Enterprise’s COO.
