Raytheon Wins $254M Navy Modification for Destroyer Software Development

Raytheon Co. (NYSE: RTN) has been awarded a $254 million contract modification by the U.S. Navy to complete software development for the Navy’s  DDG 1000-class destroyer program.

Under the contract, Raytheon’s integrated defense systems business will perform a variety of development and engineering activities for ship control systems. It will also provide these services to integrate the infrastructure for its total ship computing environment software.

Raytheon said the software encompasses all shipboard computing applications, including command, control, communications, computers (c4) and intelligence components.

Since 2005, Raytheon has served as the prime contractor for electronic and combat systems on the Navy’s DDG 1000 Detail Design and Integration contract.
